OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR SAFETY
Dear Valued Customer,
At Carper Winery, we're creating a culture and philosophy of safety that extends beyond our winery, our employees, vendors and the clients we service. Health and safety for all individuals is of our highest priority. Alongside The Iowa Department of Public Health, we have been and will continue to actively monitor the COVID-19 pandemic via the updates provided by The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State of Iowa.
What you need to know:
At this time, the State of Iowa has issued restrictions for all events or gatherings of more than 10 individuals. Carper Winery will be rescheduling events for the month of March, and preparing to reschedule events for April and May. All tours and site visits have been cancelled for the month of March in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID19 to our community and staff.
We understand although Carper Winery is prepared to host your event in future months, the current state may have an impact on your guest attendance.
What we are doing to keep you and guests safe:
Carper Winery has established employee protocol in accordance with CDC guidelines. Furthermore, we have enforced the following:
We have asked employees with flu-like symptoms to self quarantine.
Employees will have temperatures taken up arrival, prior to entering the premises.
Extensive cleaning/sanitizing protocols for both during and after each event.
New safety precautions and guidelines for employees in direct contact with customers.
Bar condiments and straws have been removed from direct contact and held 6ft from all patrons.
Bartenders will sanitize hands after any direct contact with customers, cash, credit cards, etc.
Sanitizer will be available at the bar for patrons use.
What you can do to help:
We are encouraging our customers to join us! Keeping our employees and patrons safe is a collaborative effort, here's how you can help!
If you are feeling ill, please do take precautions before visiting Carper Winery. If you have a scheduled walk-through appointment or tour scheduled, please contact us to reschedule.
Educate loved ones and your guests on COVID-19 by visiting cdc.gov/coronavirus
Consider limiting your invitees or guest attendance. Especially in the instance where an elderly or immune compromised individual has an important presence for your event.
We highly recommend caterers to implement serving procedures for planned buffet style dinners. Caterers are recommended to serve at each food station in an effort to eliminate touches and shared utensils. Please discuss with your caterer for your event.
We highly recommend bottles of water, sodas, non-alcoholic beverages to eliminate shared dispensers and self-serve containers/cups.
Please understand we are working through all options and trying to be as accommodating as we possibly can so neither our customers, their vendors, or the venue suffers significant financial loss or risk. Thank you for your support as we work to keep our community safe.
We have attached a sample letter (below), if you would like some guidance on how to communicate with your guests regarding COVID-19 and your upcoming event.
